Artisan Crafts
About us
Artisan Crafts is the journal of record for the visual arts — covering the international art world with rigorous reporting since 1990.
Our mission
We exist to inform, challenge and connect everyone who cares about art. From museum directors and collectors to artists, students and the merely curious, our readers come to us for accurate, independent journalism on the events, ideas and people shaping the visual arts.
Editions and reach
The paper was founded in London in 1990 by Anna Somers Cocks. Today, sister editions are published in Italian, French, Russian and Chinese, and our daily English-language website reaches more than three million readers a month in over 180 countries.
Editorial independence
Our reporting is funded by readers, subscribers and advertisers — never by the institutions, galleries or auction houses we cover. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial considerations. Where conflicts of interest exist, we disclose them.
